  I have installed application software from port collection . How do I 
 make un-install ? If I want to upgrade the existing application , how do I 
 upgrade them ? Please advise

You can do 'pkg_delete xyz-1.2' (look in /var/db/pkg)

Also look at the sysutils/portupgrade port.
