today I started experiencing some very weird failures on my laptop (Thinkpad

OK so I thought, this must be the latest commits to ACPI, and I tested a couple
of older, known-good kernels. The problem is, now they fail too; I checked my
logs, and the same kernel that used to work now fails.
So I tried acpidump, and sure enough it fails too:
