Per ports/UPDATING entry 20141215, I have been using
emulators/linux_base-c6 on my laptop for some time.
I recently noticed that ports/emulators/linux_base-c7 now exists (as of
r421391: 2016-09-05 13:10:30 -0700 (Mon, 05 Sep 2016)).
On the other hand, while I count 76 "linux{,base}-c6*" ports

A niece has encouraged me to use Skype (claiming that it works well

It's working here. Do you actually have the Flash plugin port
installed? The pkg delete step will have deleted the old one, and then
www/linux-c6-flashplugin11 must be manually installed.
