during boot.
the panic looks something like this:
unknown PNP0501 Can't assign resources (port)
unknown PNP0401 Can't assign resources (port)
unknown PNP0700 Can't assign resources (port)
unknown PNP0f13 Can't assign resources
Why not build a custom release of FBSD and use sysinstall's scripting
abilities to install and configure automatically? Then to reinstall any
of them just build/burn a boot floppy/cd and pop it in.

The Xircom CreditCard Ethernet 10/100 seems to work in -Stable only.
I had to burn a 3.2-RELEASE CD to install from, then put a 3.2-STABLE
kernel on my laptop from another machine using the floppy. If you can
make/get a 3.2-STABLE cd then that should work just fine, it is for me
