I've reposted this from freebsd-questions, and added some minor details. Yesterday I bought and installed a Lite-ON SATA DVD Writer for my computer. But FreeBSD fails to recognize it at all. I'd wondered if something was broken on the motherboard or the drive or if something wasn't
