skype ports status and expectations

I now have a laptop with a camera running FreeBSD. I wanted to see if skype or a clone is usable on it. It seems there is no workable skype port ATM. Have these been working at all in the past? Are there any other skype clients? Any suggestions for using skype on FreeBSD? Thanks Anton
