Looks like it tries to link against the older version that's still
installed. Try
Webster doesn't list it. Would I be correct in
assuming that you are referring to backing up the installed version
in case it has to be reinstalled if the newer version bombs out?

Air pollution is really making us pay through the nose
dangerous.
Enter this in the /etc/make.conf file:
# Pango
..if $(.CURDIR:M*/x11-toolkits/linux-pango)
DISABLE_VULNERABILITIES=yes
..endif
This way, the DISABLE_VULNERABILITIES=yes will only effect one port.

I tried it myself; however, it complains about a missing file. I
probably need automake or something; however, my skills are not that
sophisticated.
Thanks!

There is a checksum problem with the graphics/libGLU port. Even using
the NO_CHECKSUM=yes flag does not help. I then receive an error that
the libGLU-7.4.2.1 file is corrupt.

To err

gratuitous rebuilding.
I use 'portmanager' myself. It fixes a lot of problems that other
'update managers' seem to miss. Update your ports tree and then run:
portmanager mail/dovecot -l -f -y
That should get all of your dependencies corrected.

I think that should be: x11-drivers/xorg-drivers.
