I've needed to do this, core dumps are a thing of the past for me. ;-)

The sysctl change took place, however:
$ sysctl net.inet.ip.forwarding
net.inet.ip.forwarding: 1
I can restart the agent and reverse the change, but snmpd crashes
again.
So: worth a bug report, or no?

ibreSSL dropped EGD support. Various software (eg Python) checks for
egd, and won't build without EGD.
Mind you, people should certainly try it and see what happens.

I can assure you that libevent is actually installed. At least, tmux
works. :-)
Should I be concerned?

Do I need to do something else to extract a port from a shar file, or
is there really a bug in this port? If this isn't operator error, I
can submit a followup to the PR.

Hi,
Is there an approved/offical way to compile a port with debugging
symbols?
Habitually I've just run "make configure" and then edited Makefiles.
But I'm sure that's not what you folks recommend users do...

Thanks, Shaun and Paul. I appreciate the help. Changes made,
portlint ran, port re-tested, PR submitted.
Somebody stop me before I port again! :-)

I'm happy to make and test a patch for any of a, b, or c and send-pr

A search of the mailing list archive doesn't seem to lead me to a
clear successor or improvement upon portupgrade. Is portupgrade still
as good as it gets, or are we headed towards another tool any time
