This is a patch proposal. There's a bug in quagga which prevented the zebra daemon from seeing the state of logical interfaces (tun/ng/...) after it has been started. A bug has been filed at Quagga's bugzilla, and developers have fixed it. Here's the link:

Hi, It seems like the port is not working at all in FreeBSD 6.2. Sniffing the network interface, it doesn't send any multicast messages, nor does it respond to received ones. And, after working for 5 to 10 mins, it dies like that: # ospfd -dvvv startup orig_asext_lsa: 10.0.0.0/9 age 0
