This is a known one I'm very sorry about but tricky to fix, to solve it, open
your /usr/local/etc/pkg.conf you might have a duplicated entrey in alias
(probable leaf), remove the second one, that will solve your problem.

As for official TeX Live 2014 distribution: what deficiencies the
FreeBSD version has, i.e. what you can do with Windows version that

I think the texlive-base port/package is working with version 2012.
But the texlive-texmf needed to update. I've reported a request [1]

In /usr/local/etc/pkg/FreeBSD.conf should replace:
enabled:yes
to
enabled:true
And everything will fine
