FYI, devel/gettext, by the time you read this, assuming mirrors are up to date, will have jumped from 0.18 to 0.18_1. Fear not, there is no need to do a massive rebuild, merely update (or forcibly update), and a whole bunch of issues with the port in an upgrading environment will go away.
