I submitted a patch to update x11-wm/windowmaker to 0.95.8 over 3 months
ago but there is no response from the maintainer.

A newspaper is
pkg delete -f netpbm will work, it will only install netpbm.
then you can build and install netpbm.
use libchk to find which ports are broken with new netpbm and rebuild them
