Having brought myself up-to-date with the subject: It appears that
that is now the case.

Sigh.

I must not have the right feeds...

Is the FreeBSD port of chrome considered a "third-party Chromium based
browser"? Does this mean that my bookmarks between work and home
chrome browsers will now start drifting out-of-sync?

Cheers.

Does this match your experience? "Limiting Private API availability in
Chromium"
https://blog.chromium.org/2021/01/limiting-private-api-availability-in.html
Basically your scheduled reminder that any service you don't control
yourself may become unusable or vanish completely (especially when
run by that company. Anybody remembers Reader? Plus? Music?)

Christoph

chromium-89.0.4389.114_1 sign-in feature unavailable?

2021-04-11 Thread Jonathan Chen
Hi,

I recently updated to chromium-89.0.4389.114_1, and it now appears
that the browser sync sign-in feature is not available anymore? Or did
I miss something?

Cheers.

Hi Alex,

I have pushed a fix for this issue. Can you update your ports repo and
try again?

Re: FreeBSD Port: openhab2-2.5.11 - openhab3?

2021-04-11 Thread Alexander Leidinger

Quoting Thomas Gude (from Fri, 9 Apr 2021
12:11:19 +0200):

Hi netchild,

I am happily using the openhab2 port on my FreeBSD home server. The
openHAB guys have released the new 3.0 version quite some time ago
and I am wondering if you (or anyone else) have plans for (or are
even already working on) a port for FreeBSD. Would be nice to get
your feedback or thoughts on this.

Frank Preusser (in CC) has send me an openhab 3 port. I didn't had the
possibility to have a look at this. The last thing I remember is that
there were some issues still left (IIRC some java error). I'm not sure
if it migrates the openhab2 config. With openhab2 there was an update
script to update from a previous version of openhab2. I had to ...
sort of replace ... it with something similar, no idea how openhab-3
is doing this. I just remember that in the release notes it was
mentioned that they renamed from "openhab2" to "openhab".

Bye,
Alexander.

It sure looks like gitup is checking the entire port tree every single time. If
I run it twice in a row it is no faster the second time.

As a data point my servers only have 4GB or RAM and gitup runs fine.

(One is a Celeron J1800 and the other an i5-3470, the Celeron is dog slow
running gitup, but it runs).

(~1 minutes for the i5, 25 min for the Celery)

This makes me wish even more there was a simple way to exclude categories for
the ports tree like all the foreign languages and x11 games and audio (for me,
of course)

Actually, all my installed ports only come from these trees:

archivers benchmarks converters databases devel dns editors
ftp lang mail math misc net ports-mgmt print security shells
sysutils textproc and www

I'd love to be able to only sync, download, and check those categories, granted
that include the six largest categories and 8 of the top ten, so not sure how
much it would help, but it would help some.
