You have to find out now where the GPU is and of what type it is. Some are supported by KMS, others are not supported. Still, you said before that the other window managers start properly. So, your problem should not be related to hardware. I also have now no real idea what could be the cause of the problem. Interesting, last time I checked FreeBSD Wiki on Intel_GPU, it was saying 'kldload i915kms startx'.
