migrating from 5.1 to 4.9

Hi, I would like to format my disk with 5.1 and install 4.9. I don't care about system wide settings, installed appz and so on. All I want is to save mail and X/fluxbox settings. Do you think that If I just copy home dir this will do? thank you Martin

hi, is there any utility that can resize/merge two freebsd/165/ partitions? I've tried PartitionMagic under win but with no effect and sysinstall fdisk has no option like that. Important fact is that both are packed with data I don't want to lose. Thank you Martin
