I started to compile Java 1.5 some days ago, and I also got a lot of problems. Then I compiled Jdk 1.4 with no problems... When BSD is installing jdk 1.5, it ask for linux-Jdk 1.4. I think this is the problem, if it was used to compile Java libraries, It won't work. Try to compile 1.4,
