Boot -s doesn't work any other ideas

Hi I'm trying to recover a root password however when doing boot -s in the beggining it doesn't work at all . I can mount this disk from another OS (openbsd) and see the files on this hard disk. Is there any other way i can break the password so i can make this work., thanks To
