I have had this problem before, it was one of the commands I posted, almost 100% sure.

Hi,

I'm trying to set up a Postfix SMTP server on my machine (FreeBSD 4.11
). I
read the cheat notes here <
http://www.mostgraveconcern.com/freebsd/mail.html>
and I can get Postfix running. However, when I try to telnet in or
connect
with Mozilla Thunderbird nothing happens.

Here is an example:

[EMAIL PROTECTED] telnet 127.0.0.1 25
Trying 127.0.0.1...
Connected to localhost.angrycoder.org.
Escape character is '^]'.
[some time goes by here...]
[I get angry and mash the escape character like a monkey] ^]
telnet> quit
Connection closed.

Here is some [hopefully!] useful info:

What does your log file say?

What do your inet_interfaces lines in /usr/local/etc/postfix/main.cf look
like?
