vidcontrol -p /dev/ttyv0 shot.scr
with the above command a file 'shot.scr' was created.
But I have no program to view it.
# pkg_info | grep scr2txt
# pkg_info | grep scr2png
# pkg_info | grep -w xv
all no printout
# cd /usr/ports
# make search

If you use kde, there is an application called knsapshot. it allows to do screenshot
and to save it in a jpg fromat

If in X but you want a command line, install ImageMagick and use
$ convert X: screenshot.jpg
then point to the window you want a screenshot
