Hello all, I am having the following problem with a new system: the system will install (minimal) fine from cd, after install when i am attempting to do anything cpu intensive (for example compiling a port or a custom kernal) the console freezes, I am not able to switch to another console, or ssh in, or ping the box after a ping. I was wondering if anyone else has had this type of problem...and more importantly found a solution.

The box doesn't reboot when it freezes, so I don't think it is a temperature issue I have switched out the power supply as well as the motherboard (same model) Any thoughts or suggestions? Thanks for your time.
