When I try to rebuild centericq with g++33 using portupgrade I end up in
hundreds of make processes.
# portupgrade -f centericq -M USE_GCC=3.3
After a few seconds:
% ps xa |grep make |wc -l
398
The same happens if I do
# make USE_GCC=3.3 install clean
# make USE_GCC=3.3 clean

This is a FAQ - you're doing something wrong. USE_GCC is a
makefile-internal variable.
