Trouble with GUI

I was wondering if anyone else is having trouble with their GUI. The trouble that I am having is that the GUI frezes while loading something, GUI sends a kill for itself. And rebooting. I updated FreeBSD 4.9 to 4.10 through cvsup and did a build world.

I am using the automount feature for FreeBSD. And I am wondering. What would be a good time for the unmount. Currently I have 60 seconds But I wonder if I would overdue it (constantly remounting). If I would put something shorter. Like 20 or 10 seconds.

I was wondering if anyone could help me allocating a 1.5 gig hard drive. I worked on it a little bite, and came up with 150MB for /, 134MB for swap, 150MB for /var, 175MB for /tmp, and the rest goes to /usr. I would like to optamize this a little more. I want to run KDE on the hard drive. Any help
