We got command timeout with the aac driver off and on for about a year
with a 5400s and various freebsd versions. Ive been sending Scott the
info and he has tried various fixes. I switched one of the machines to
5.2.1 a couiple of weeks ago. It been ok so far. Buts sometimes it may
go a month
Apache is in the /usr/ports collection. For general use its best to use
one of those as it takes care of installing any libraries it needs into
/usr/local.
If you:
cd /usr/ports/www/apache2
make install
It will take care of everything. If you want to look at the sources then

Yeah I ran into that yesterday myself. The mysql_install_db doesnt leave
you with a working mysql database lately. What did to fix it was mysqld
-u mysql --skip-grant
(Im assuming you have your mysql firewalled off, if not do that first ;)
At that point mysql is up enough to restore the mysql
If you rm -rf /var/db/msyql then reinstall it doesnt work right now is
the problem... at least on freebsd. It gives the host.frm error the
poster asked about. Ive only been able to get a new system going by
restoring the mysql database (/var/db/mysql/mysql) from elsewhere.

Does anyone know the model number of a cheap hub to use when packet
sniffing? The two suposed hubs I have seem to be blocking packets not
addressed to me same as a switch would...

It doesnt use swap. It uses an area at the front of each vinum partition
to list the config. Thats so you can take all the disks out of the
machine and put them back in in any old oder and it works.
