I am trying to add access to SAN storage on our FreeBSD 6.2 boxes. What I
found out is:
a) FreeBSD never scan the LUNs on the san storage device if lun 0 is
masked (hidden) there
b) FreeBSD never scan any LUNs over lun 7 on the san storage device

Is there any way to force restore into skiping this tape and continuing on
the next one? I have seen only one refference to identical problem
(http://www.freebsd.org/cgi/query-pr.cgi?pr=17791) but it is not clear to
me if it was fixed or not.

After doing some research, I found out that it is the rfc1323 option which
causes this problem.
If we disable the net.inet.tcp.rfc1323 the problems dissapear. Anyone has
an idea why IPSec causes the rfc1323 extended connections to stall ?

One of our machines under FBSD 4.6.1 begun to panic and reboot under heavy
disk activity after we replaced 2 60 gig maxtor drives with 2 20 gig ones.
The problem is that we cannot see the exact panic message because by the
time we get to machine it is allready rebooting (15 sec timeout).

partucular we are in need to monitor the status of our ATA HDDs via
S.M.A.R.T interface and read the onboard temperature sensors.
