Try and boot to your previous kernel. If that is broken for some
reason as well, boot with something like Fresbie and install a generic
kernel on your disk and boot with it.

i use this way but have to pay for lossing /etc/rc.con file, old one.
furthermore, my mouse does not move and get this message during boot

unable to open /dev/psm0: No such file or directory.

anyway, thanks so much indeed for your helps and hints.

To boot an older kernel, in the
boot menu, escape to the loader prompt
type unload
load /boot/kernel.old/kernel
load /boot/kernel.old/acpi.ko
boot

while in 5.4 generic kernel i did pkg_delete -fa and start from nill
making xorg, teTeX, docproj-jade, xemacs, gnome2 without any problem at
the same time i did a customized kernel with many problem. i had to
disable sio, parallel port and so on. after finished making gnome2, i
startx i got a black text screen in a few second.

so my instink told me that may be because of kernel so that i did reboot

Hello everyone,

I am curious about the CVS refuse files. I could find no mention of
refuse files in the Cederqvist, but does it perhaps refer to the
..cvsignore files which tells CVS which items to ignore (i.e. not fetch
when updating the ports tree)

Thanks for your help and patience with us newbies.

I'm guessing you really updated your machine to 5.x or later by
mistake (e.g. used the wrong cvsupfile), and you have also tried to
installworld before installkernel, which is an incorrect way to do the
 update anyway.

thanks to all.
you are right kris, i did what you expected. worse was that any command
produced core dump in single user mode.
the last one was sh exited on signal 12 (cored dump)
i simply responded with install 5.4 to that machine anew.
i took 25 hours 50 minutes in building world and now begin buildkernel.
that is a very old 90MHz machine from bb though.

anyway, thanks so much for all of your response and your times.

 Kris

sugarcrm: XML Parser not available

2005-09-14 Thread pirat sriyotha
hi sirs,

am installing sugarcrm from port. installation ends smoothly. but when
i launch mozilla http://localhost/suharcrm/, i get error messages
instead. looking at /usr/local/www/data, there is no sugarcrm in there
but /usr/local/www. so i need to move /usr/local/www/sugarcrm/*
to /usr/local/www/data/sugarcrm and re-launch mozilla.

i stuck at step 1, system checking error (in red) and the one that i can
not recover from is 'XML Parser Not Available.'

could any one here please give mo some hints to overcome this kind of
errors ?

thanks for your time.

with best regards,
psr
