consider a dedicated server elsewhere if you can push the
budget up to at least $50/mo.

Bob,
If you don't need all that Druapl has to offer, just set the default
front page to the blog that is included. I know it's a CMS with many
features that you may not require at this time but, as time goes on, Drupal
has the ability to do almost anything you will need.

Suggestions from another rookie(me):
I use the ports tree and portsnap,
http://www.freebsd.org/doc/en_US.ISO8859-1/books/handbook/portsnap.html, and
when it's time to update the following "one liner" works great for me:
cd /boot/ ; cp -Rp kernel kernel.good ; cd /usr/src ; cvsup -gL2
/usr/sh

Something doesn't seem right with those ports.
When I have setup a server I use php4-4.4.2_1, mysql-server-4.1.18_2,
php4-extensions-1.0 and apache.
I think php4-4.4.2_1 and php4-mysql-4.4.2_1 will cause a conflict.
Some correct me if I'm wrong on this.

They are the best I know of for cost and support. Cperciva posts in their
forums and they have their own mirror.
Without starting a "war" does anyone know of any provider that can match
or beat what LT has to offer?

Hi,
I'm testing a program that wasn't installed from ports, Xweb from

I thaught it would be a good idea to setup a 6.0 server and test it out. Now I
have a major headache and need some help.
Setup:
FreeBsd 6.0 fresh install, cvsup, make buildworld .. etc:
portsnap fetch, extract:
mysql41-server:
apache13:
php4: (all from ports)
Apache starts and I get the "def
