sound card problems
i tried using hints to enable my ess1886 sound card its a 32 bit sound card and all i get is a message device /dev/dsp operation not supported by device what does it mean? ?how do i fix it? freebds 5.0, kde 3.0, compaQ 200mz MMX, 32 bit ram, ess 1886 32 bit sound card, ass chewing machine. __ Do you Yahoo!? oops!! now i cant boot
I was tring to get my ess sound card working on freeBSD 5.0, so i edited /boot/default/loader.conf it edited in insert mode and i messed up ["no"] became [yes"no"] and i saved before i relized it and rebooted no it locks up and tells me there is a problem and thats it. i tried vty4 but do not know the commands is there a way to edit the file loader.conf using vty4 of something ?please? = No Hope in the future Look To the past to find redimsioun. __ Do you Yahoo!? partition resizing help!!! PLZ
when I installed freebsd I tried to resize the /dev partion bigger and It told me it was not possible even though I had 5GB of free space it only let me to use preset partition sizes:( So know my /dev partiotion is too small. and the OS is installed with KDE as GUI. and my /dev fills to compasity and fails every thing that dosna fit into it. fatal server error
I have a Compaq presario 4770 monitor is a Compaq 1525 grafix card is s3 Trio64V2 every time I try to start X server I get " Fatal Server Error" " No Screens Found" " No Drivers Available" I know I have the monitor settings correct the only thing I could have wrong is grafix card settings. or my card is Not supported.
