Yea this was my next course of action I was just wondering what I was

I just went through updating via cvsup and then did it through sysinstall
rebuilt the kernal but it still states v4.8 when I log in. What am I doing wrong?

Well I don't have an answer but I am doing this with no special setup on the
bsd side. it just works. Only diff is that I am running 4.8

What controls the creation of the pid files in the /var/run/ directory?
every time I shut down I get the error: bftpd.pid: No such file or directory
therefore I am not getting a clean shutdown on bftpd, no biggie but annoying. I
am starting this via /usr/local/etc/rc.d/bftpd.sh whi
I have bftpd set up so I can shuffle files around in my local network.
When I download from it to my windows machine I get the normal 8000KBs but
when I try to send files to it the speed drops to around 80KBs. I also have an
ftpd running on my win2k machine and speeds are in the 8000KBs

I am having a problem compiling several programs. I keep getting the
error can't find expat, but I have it installed. pkg_info lists it and if I look in
/usr/local/include there is an expat.h file what am I missing? I am trying to
