Could you help me to solve the problem with booting from Promise SX6000 IDE RAID controller?
The system hangs on when booting after installing FreeBSD 5.0 before loading the kernel. Nevertheless it is possible to boot from CD and mount all the filesystems. The problem is only to boot! Hardware: P4 motherboard (tried both on Gigabyte GA-8IR533 with Intel845 chipset and Asus motherboard with Intel845E chipset with the same result) Thanks in advance! Aleksey P.S. By the way FreeBSD 4.7 does not want to work with any IDE drives connected to SX6000 when installing although the support of SX6000 is announced.
