Re: Where is pkg repository for 9.2-RELEASE (amd64)?

Yeah!!! 96.47.72.120 works! Thanks!

I installed 9.1 on new node and compiled from ports.
It took a long time, which I want to avoid right now.
Here is what I consider as steps for 9.2:

freebsd-update upgrade -r 9.2-RELEASE
freebsd-update install
nextboot -k GENERIC
freebsd-update install
portsnap fetch
portsnap extract
do all pkg steps
freebsd-update install
kernel rebuild
reboot

I might be making some misunderstandings in order of
this?

Well, I still have no idea what the address of the server is.
Could someone post it (i.e. 123.456.789.123 or alike)?
After having it set as PACKAGESITE, I assume running pkg, pkg2ng,
pkg update, pkg upgrade -fy enough?
Best regards all

usb hub as kvm switch

2013-02-08 Thread Zoran Kolic
I have two nodes side by side. There is none of kvm
switches for usb only. I plan to connect usb keyboard
and usb mouse and let monitor with two adapters to do
the rest.
Is it possible to use plain kvm switch for this task.
One of nodes would be freebsd 9.1 amd64.
Best regards

Typo in original post. Should be:

is it possible to use usb hub to handle usb
keyboard and usb mouse for two nodes, of whick
one is freebsd 9.1 amd64 box.

Re: Crucial SSD firmware upgrade -- usb flash drive issues

2013-02-01 Thread Zoran Kolic
If I understand correctly, it is iso image from ssd manufacturer.
They tend to think everybody uses win and has cd drive. Quick
search might give easy answer, if win/linux box is available. You
could try out unetbootin. Tutorial says it takes an image and
makes bootable usb stick.
