Stop in /usr/ports/... error code 1

2007-06-29 Thread zigniew szalbot
Hi,

I sometimes make a mistake of selecting wrong options while installing
port software which ends in a port not being installed. I never know how
to undo it in order to start again from the options selection. I try make
clean but that does not fix the issue and I cannot get a given port
installed.

What is the procedure to delete initial choice of settings to start afresh?

Thank you very much in advance!

You can use 'make config' in port's directory to configure OPTIONS
again. This and many other make targets are documented in ports(7)
manpage.

'make config' will get you the options screen.

Check the thread on ports@ (though no fix yet).

do a portsnap or cvsup, deinstall and reinstall portupgrade, then run
portupgrade, it worked for 3 boxes of mine.

mapserver in ports error

2006-10-24 Thread jason
hey folks, im
trying to install this from ports on a 4.11 box and get the dreaded message
about
configure: error:
!!! You PHP was compiled with PHP's bundled regex library. !!!
!!! In this case MapServer and PHP MapScript must also be compiled !!!
!!! using the same copy of regex.!!!
!!! There are two possible ways to get rid of this error:!!!

etc..

so how exactly do I
!!! use the --with-php-regex-dir=DIR configure !!!
!!!option to specifiy the location of the PHP source tree where the !!!
!!!regex/*.o files are located.

I know where the php dir is, but
do I do this from the
/usr/ports/graphics/mapserver/work/mapserver-4.4.1 with a configure command
or is there some switch on make install that I use?

regards,
Jason

Ports Error

2004-04-16 Thread Ben Craig
Hi,

I recently upgraded a system to 4.9R and now receive
the following error when using the make install
clean comment on any port in /usr/ports (and also
using package installation in sysinstall):

There is a COMMENTFILE in this port.
COMMENTFILEs have been deprecated in
favor of COMMENT variables.
Please, rectify this.
*** Error code 1

I've looked around online and there seems to be very
little info about this (in English anyway). Any
suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Regards,

Ben Craig

Sounds like your ports collection is (partly) out of date. How did
you update it? If you used cvsup, post your cvsupfile.

I most commonly see that when the entire file has not been downloaded.
Delete this file and let your ports system refetch it.
