Freebsd 6.1 binary compatibility

Hi, sorry for the newbie question... I know for ports there won't be any problem, but what about commercial apps where we don't compile them from scratch, will they work or do we need a new binary from them ? I'm wondering if pdflib (registered) will continue to work or if I need to wait
