I can't send email to the FreeBSD lists because my DNS
configuration is hosed--the bit from my ISP, not my
own bind :)
Anyway, is there a site that could tell me what the
nameservers outside my network see for my domain?

Try 'dig'
dig www.foo.com @123.123.123.123
tells you how www.foo.com resolves at 123.123.123.123. Assuming
that 123.123.123.123 lets you
