Hi,
after trying for some hours now to burn a videocd with cdrdao
under 6.0-R, I reverted to nero on XP. :-(
Any idea, why cdrdao exits with RC=1, but w/o any message?
Greetings,
Robert

Hi, this is a bit out of the blue, I used mkxvcd to
generate/modify a mpeg file from ~900MB to less then
700MB and wanted to make a VCD out ot it. I then
gnenerate toc file by running
vcdimager -t vcd11 -c xvcd.cue -b xvcd.bin
test-KVCD1.mpg
and then to burn a VCD by:
cdrdao write --device 2,0,0
My trusty SCSI CD burner is dying a slow death, so I'm thinking about
getting a new one. The problem is SCSI drives are very expensive now
when compared to an ATAPI one and I have a small budget.
I use cdrdao a lot for music and video CDs and cdrecord for data CDs.
do those tools work with ATAPI

ATAPI/CAM?
I can vouch for cdrdao. Been using it with an atapi burner via
atapi-cam. Works great.

Hello.
CDRDAO used to be my knight in shining armor until it one day suddenly started
blaming my drive (YAMAHA CDR400t 1.0m) for not being ready?
Now what kind of bullshit is this?
# cdrdao write --device 0,3,0 --speed 4 --overburn *toc
0,3,0: YAMAHA CDR400t Rev: 1.0m
Using driver

I'm trying to copy an audio cd with cdrdao. I'm running 4.7-RELEASE
Not having much luck. Here's the results of the cdrdao command. It
just stops at Track 1 ...

It looks like what I need to use to make audio CDs that look like
the ones I can buy (ie, you insert into a Cd drive and the name of
the CD shows up as a mountpoint) is cdrdao. I don't see any
options for cdrecord to write a volume label.
The port of cdrdao doesn't have the UI (gcdmaster) so

Look at the cdrdao docs. man cdrdao has a section explaining the format
of the toc files. If that fails, you can try searching the cdrdao
mailing lists and project's web page.
Yeah, I've read those. They didn't help. Wading through the (to
me) cryptic file format
