I've recently changed to FreeBSD 5.3 from Gentoo linux. It looks like FreeBSD outperforms gentoo. I feel 'some' KDE applications runs at least 3 times faster on FreeBSD. ( gentoo was even prelinked) However, Disk IO seems too slow compare to linux. What makes FreeBSD so fast? Why is disk io
