I see there are still some open PRs for this problem, but they are a
couple of years old. Does anyone know of any workarounds?
I don't recall having problems in 7.x, but in 8.x I see the firmware
errors every few hours. If I try to do a # /etc/rc.d netif restart the
system reboots.
# pciconf

hi,
I have just installed FreeBSD on one of my laptops. It has a wireless
adapter (intel 2200) so I need to get it working. I went into the ports
and tried to install
/usr/ports/net/iwi-firmware-kmod
but got an error;

Hey all,
I installed the iwi-firmware and iwi-firmware-kmod ports and I am now
trying to load specific firmware on the iwi adapter but it keeps failing.
The port installs fine and puts the firmware to /boot/firmware. The docs

I could not find documentation about iwi-firmware-kmod and things do not
work the way I expect them. If this is not the right place to ask this
question, please, point me to an appropriate mailing list or forum.
How do I use the ibbs and monitor mode with iwi-firmware-kmod (6.2-RC2)?
If I try
=bss
ifconfig_iwi0=ssid DHCP
This used to bring up my iwi0 interface at boot time and I had a
working internet connection after the machine had booted.
However, this morning I did make world (attaching cvsup files for
the kernel and ports for completeness). The iwi firmware was not

Prior to updating to 6.1, my Intel 2200 BG worked fairly well using
iwi-firmware and wpa_supplicant. Now, the firmware fails to load so I
cannot connect. I did some searching and some people recommend
installing iwi-firmware-kmod. When I try to do so, it is marked as
ignored
