Hi, all!
My ISP (Internet access via PPTP) has just changed PPTP server and now
the server assign the same IP for the far end of the pptp interface as
the server has.
i.e.:
pptp server - 192.168.0.1
my IP - 192.168.0.10
pptp iface - inet 192.168.1.10 --> 192.168.0.1 netmask 0xf

I have tried some different ways to make a working VPN server on FreeBSD 7.0.
The main goal is to make it possible for Windows clients to access their
Samba home shares. I'm not sure if mpd is the best solution, but I will give
it a try.
I have installed /usr/ports/mpd4 and have the following confi
Hi,
I solved the problem, and I'll post the resolution for reference
purposes. There were two configuration issues:
1) To enable MPPE encryption the encryption option on the bundle should
be DISABLED, since MPPE lives in the compression layer and not the
encryption layer; thus by commenting
Hi,
I'm trying to set up mpd (3.18) on a FreeBSD server to allow windows and
linux clients to connect. Currently I've only been trying to make the
linux connection succeed (Ubuntu with ppp-2.4.4), but I get the
following output from linux pppd:
CHAP authentication succeeded

I configured pptp server on 5.4 and it seems to be
working (kinda):
What did I do wrong? The firewall rule is to allow
from any to any.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
By the way, I am using mpd4. tried mpd3.18 and the
same problem.
Here's how I set mine up:
