 What does the MX record for that domain point to?
   [dig mx domain.com]

No MX

 Are you sure qmail is running/listening?

Yes running

 Did you shutoff sendmail in rc.conf?
   sendmail_enable=NONE I think...

No sendmail is not running

You need an MX record for that domain.
If using bind simplest way would be to:
ie: for emails @domain.com

domain.com. IN MX 1 mail.domain.com.

as long as mail.domain.com resolves to the correct IP.

If you want email for subdomains...
ie:@qmail.domain.com

mail.domain.com. IN MX 1 mail.domain.com.

etc.etc.
