I have two server installs of FreeBSD 7.0-RELEASE. One is running AMD64 and the other is running i386.

The one running AMD64 is getting an error at SMTP time of:

535 5.7.8 Error: authentication failed: generic failure

Once this happens, the saslauthd thread that took the connection causes this line to be written in ../messages:

Jun 12 05:51:01 smtpgate kernel: pid 37374 (saslauthd), uid 0: exited on signal 11 (core dumped)

I've looked for the core dump but can't find it anywhere.

Both servers are running identical versions of:

  smtpgate# pkg_info |grep cyrus
cyrus-sasl-2.1.22_1 RFC 2222 SASL (Simple Authentication and Security Layer)
cyrus-sasl-saslauthd-2.1.22 SASL authentication server for cyrus-sasl2

Does anyone know if there is an issue with cyrus sasl and/or cyrus saslauthd on AMD64? Or is there anything special needed to be done?
