OK, it's working now. Well, if it happens with two different emulators, I guess you'd have to look for a cause outside of the emulators themselves. - is the CD allright? Have you tried booting your machine with it? - does the user who starts the qemu/bochs process have write access to the CD device? If not, you have to fix that.
