Well, that is an option. From what I have discovered, the problem is with the QuickTime codec. It has been a problem for an extended period of time. Perhaps the maintainer should just remove that option form the port, or issue a warning that, that codec cannot be installed without specifically modifying the 'makefile' or perhaps using a specific directive on the command line. Then again, why make things simple. BTW, I am subscribed to the list. There is no need to Cc: me.
