kernel compile problem

I just cvsuped my router to 4stable, from 4.6.2. I tried recompile the previous kernel. That did not work. It configed properly, but a make depend did not succeed. I get the same errors trying to compile the generic kernel. The last few lines I get when trying to do a make depend are... make -V

Are you getting any trace out that you can post? I'd agree with you that it doesn't seem to be contacting the database. If you have a log against mysql, you could check this from the database end. Started mysqld with loging enabled as debug. And now I can verify that pam doesn't touch MySQL for
