Contact the port maintainers in the first instance -- they may well have beta test versions of the ports you can download. Failing that, it is perfectly feasible for you to update a port yourself. Generally, you will want to work on a copy of the port directory somewhere. You can check out

I cannot see this listed in the H/W compat. list but I had heard it isn't always up to date so thought I'd ask. Want to build a NAS using FreeBSD/ZFS/Raid-Z on Gigabyte MA-785GT-UD3H base but it uses Realtek 8111c Gige LAN H/W. Sean Gillings ___
