Process States Explanation

Where can I get a good list of what each process state means? I have searched the manual pages and handbook and have not been able to find answers or explanations for what states such as pfault mean. I know they are linked to the systemcalls, but how can I get more info about this? Any informa

Does anyone have a small list with biref descriptions of what each value in the STATE column in top represent. e.g sbwait, kserel, nanslap, select, piperd, etc... I once saw one in the achieves, but I am unable to find it again. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. ___
