Hello All--
I have successfully set up my DHCP server on FreeBSD
5.2 but have a question. I only want my DHCP server
to hand out IPs to known MAC addresses entered into
dhcpd.conf how can I do this? I don't care of the
same IP is always handed out to the same card.
Thanks,
JP
So I would remove the range entry?
Thanks,
JP

Hey Gang--
I recompiled my kernel to include support for firewall
and such. After creating my rules file, fwrules and
rebooting this is the error I am getting:
natdnatd: Unable to create divert socket. Protocol
not supported
Can someone explain whats wrong?
Thanks
*grin* I added the following to my kernel:
options IPFIREWALL
options IPFIREWALL_VERBOSE
options IPFIREWALL_VERBOSE_LIMIT=100
options IPDIVERT

Hi,
I have just got my firewall up and running.
Everything is running great except for inbound
sendmail connections. It appears my firewall is
blocking port 25 traffic. I can telnet localhost 25
and it works fine internally. From the outside world,
all I get is a connection refused. Can
to mount or access the server from
the console? I tried to use the safe mode but the file system is read-only and
that doesnt' do me any good.
Thanks,
JP

mkhomedir.so this file is needed to create home directories after logging in
successfully though winbind. I am running FreeBSD 5.3 Release, and Samba 3.

exists it would be created by the mkhomedir.so file. It doesn't appear that
many people have experienced missing this file, not having much luck finding
anything on google about it.

Shouldn't the comand host -t mx domain.tld just return domain.tld??
If this isn't correct how can i correct?

Hello There,
I currently am a running 5.2.1-Release which is
configured as a gateway with kernel firewall support.
I have installed Squid (Proxy) and Nylon (SOCKS) which
seem to be configured fine. However, I need help in
getting all http/https traffic to only route to the
proxy (Port 3128) and
to it just fine remotely as
well as Ftp. I am using PPP since I have a PPPoE connection.
Any advice?
Thanks,
JP
