During boot, my sound card (Intel 443MX) won't initialize. I always get the following message:
- pcm0: <Intel 443MX> port0xe400-0xe4ff ,0xee80-0xeebf irq 10 at device 0.1 on pci0 pcm0: [GIANT-LOCKED] pcm0: unable to initialize the card device_attach: pcm0 attach returned 6 - When I tried to load all the drivers, I received the same message. Though with certain drivers, I received the following: - pcm0: <Intel 443MX> port0xe400-0xe4ff ,0xee80-0xeebf irq 10 at device 0.1on pci0 pcm0: [GIANT-LOCKED] pcm0: unable to initialize the card device_attach: pcm0 attach returned 6 sio1: configured irq 3 not in bitmap of probed irqs 0 sio1: port may not be enabled - I've tried the following: kldload snd_ich kldload sound Configuring the kernel with 'device sound' and 'device snd_ich' ...yet nothing seems to work. Can anyone help me with this problem? My computer is a NEC VersaPro VA80J laptop with 700mHz Pentium III and 128MB.
