[compiling installing FreeBSD]
dear freeBSD's gurus, question is: does make installworld do any backup of the files it touch? is any way to failback that installworld? I think I have read that make installkernel do a backup of the kernel in kernel.old but for the world I would like to know. No. Restore from (your own) backups, installation media, or rebuild the world you need from appropriately-dated sources. I think I have read that make installkernel do a backup of the kernel in kernel.old but for the world I would like to know. That is correct, but it is only the kernel (and modules) that are backed up this way.
