-stable kernel and release 6.2 base system. Do they need to be in sync?

Hi, Just updated /usr/src to -stable (-rRELENG_6), and are now compiling the -stable kernel. Just wondering if I will need to rebuild the base system (world?) as well so they are in sync? Thanks. -- Please avoid sending me Word or PowerPoint attachments. See
