Uh, someone correct me if I'm wrong but I think you have to generate
your key AS the user you want to use it under. Looks like maybe you
created a gpg key for ROOT, not Bryan Cassidy.

gpg --list-keys

...should help clarify/confirm this.

This is what I get when I run 'gpg --gen-key' as 'user'

gpg: no writable public keyring found: eof
Key generation failed: eof
gpg: note: random_seed file not updated

Kinda new to this. Had to remove the ~/.gnupg dir and re-run gpg
--gen-key as 'user' and it works fine now as you can see. Thanks for the
response though. I appreciate it.
