Maintainer of WHOIS command
Who is the FreeBSD Maintainer of WHOIS command? The FreeBSD 4.9 version of whois command seems to automatically drill down from the ARIN database through the RIPE database to find the ISP owner of the entered IP address just fine. But does not do the same thing with the LACNIC or APNIC databases. Some posts I found in news groups seem to indicate that the FreeBSD version of the whois command is out of date, and missing some new auto navigation logic that handles the other database inquires. Does anybody know if there is some official organization that maintains the unix whois command?
